for Women in Nawabpur
Started in October 2008, this project for rural women in Nawabpur is a success story. With active participation from Sinko Corp, USA, they have agreed to market 10,000 units of the product (a specific kind of hand-knitted dishcloth) that the women are involved in making.
These women have opened bank accounts for the first time in their lives thanks to this project! These washcloths, called Tookie's, were available for sale in Rural Supply, Domus, Summit Market, Los Gatos Hardware, and Ace Hardware. It has provided a livelihood for more than 140 women.
